Condition Yourself to Succeed with Nero Association Conditioning (NAC)

How long does it take to change your mindset? The answer is, ‘only an instant’. But many of us have to go through many expensive and lengthy psychological consultations to make that change – what a joke! The reason is because our minds have been preconditioned in our early days. We now have to unlearn things and recondition it for success, but as mentioned earlier, this can happen instantly. What may take time is our decision, at that moment, to change.

You can change your mindset instantly with the right technology and strategy. Think about it - every change in your life actually happened in a moment – didn’t it?

What’s standing between you and success?
Get results with audio and video programs from Anthony Robbins.

If you listen to Tony Robbins’s seminar, he uses what he calls ‘Nero Association’ to train and condition our minds to think about the pleasure of succeeding so that our minds and bodies can be motivated to focus on reaching for success. It will even teach you how to associate all the pain you will be experiencing if you do not succeed, as this will also propel you to get the goals you want. When exercised over time, it will allow your unconscious mind to take over so that you need not use your willpower to do what you want - you are on auto-pilot – a condition and habit to succeed. Tony calls this technique Nero Association Conditioning (NAC).

So, we must take control of our NAC so that we can produce results consistently and effect lasting change. Tony’s systematic NAC can create long-term effective and constant change to our feelings and behaviors.

The 6 NAC Steps to Change:

1) Know What You Want:
Decide on what you really want. Don’t always cry over what you don’t want.
If you have difficulties knowing what you want, you probably need to know who you are and what your wealth profile is first.

2) Know What is Preventing You From Getting What You Want:
Bring in the factor of massive pain or pleasure that comes with change. For instance, if someone points a gun at you to get you to change, because if not, you will die - what do you do? You change.

Pain and Pleasure comprise the 2nd factor that makes you change. Make pain-inducing questions. Make the pain of association so real that you will feel what will happen to you if you don’t change. And then feel the pleasure you get if you do change, to make you desire change.

3) Interrupt that Pattern or Break the Old Behavior; Remove the Obstacles:
If you keep on having those limiting beliefs and disempowering patterns, how can you expect to change? Associate that inability to change with the pain you will associate with not changing. This could propel you to do the necessary shift in your mindset going forward.

The strategy is to do something that is different from your usual pattern and make that shift. Interrupt your usual pattern. Think of the most enjoyable moment and things you can do, like shouting, “Great! Great! I am doing OK today!” This breaking of pattern can change your state. As we change the images we see, we change how we think and feel.

4) Choose and Install the New Behavior or Pattern You Want:
Create a new and empowering alternative. Establish a long-term change. This new alternative is to replace old ways and patterns. If your own pattern is ‘Excessive Worry,” why not replace it with Massive Actions?

5) Condition Yourself for the New Behavior or Pattern:
This ensures that the change you create will last long term, In order for you not to backslide. This new Pathway will become the Highway to Your Success. Set yourself a schedule; this would reinforce your mind to keep and achieve your goals.

6) Do an Ecology Test for the New Behavior to See If You Have Successfully Installed and Conditioned It To Be Your New Automatic Response:
How does it affect your personal life, how does it give you benefits? Set up a series of short-term goals and milestones so as to reward yourself. Don’t wait for the achievement of your bigger goals. As soon as you achieve small successes, reward yourself.

Building and Nurturing Your Beliefs - and Blasting Off!

Beliefs will either create or destroy. Beliefs affect our minds and thoughts. In a previous posting, I mentioned that the Chinese knew that thought is the key in the success process. Because in Chinese, the word ‘thought’ is a combination of 3 key characters that form the word ‘thought’. The characters are Vision, Beliefs, and Heart (which represent Desire, Determination, and Faith).

Therefore, belief is one of the important steps we have to take to succeed in the process. Belief is the force that controls our decisions, influences how we think and feel, and hence gives our brains the unquestionable command to respond to things in certain ways. Look at what some religions and cult groups can do to beliefs - they can command people to give their lives away for a certain cause they believe in.

“Faith is to believe what you do not yet see; the reward to this faith is to see what you believe” - St. Augustine.

Therefore, beliefs can be powerful enough to motivate you to keep your mind focused on the possibility that you can do certain things, and that you will do them. I noticed that most positive thinking seminar speakers use this technique to motivate their audience. T-Harv Eker is a good example. He liked to end his speeches by asking everyone in the audience to stand up, put their right hand on their chest, and say some affirmation words that reinforce what has been taught. See some of his videos here:

Tony Robbins admits that he uses the same techniques not only on his students, but on himself, too. Belief is a feeling of certainty about what something means to you. If you feel certain that you can do it, you will be able to tap on resources around you that you can get hold of and act intelligently on, to produce the results you set forth to achieve.

Some of the techniques to reinforce the belief you have is to establish references, examples, and even mentors. That is the reason why I have always encouraged my readers to take the Wealth Profiling test. It gives you references, directions, and examples of successful people who have profiles similar to yours and some recommended and proven strategies you can adopt to achieve similar or better results.

You can see that Tony also emphasizes ‘feelings’. According to The Secret movie, what you think is what you get and you become what you think. So in order to control your thoughts, you have to control your feelings. Like if you go to watch a sad movie, the sad vision you see on the screen stimulates melancholy in you and may even make you cry. So feelings and vision are quite linked. Watch out for what you put into your minds and what you think of, as it is what you will become.

If you believe in something, continue to feed positive thoughts by making sure you have positive feelings. Think of something that makes you happy, like the kid or the puppy you are fond of…control your focus, and focus on things that are positive and good.

We have real stories of miracle healing in the Secret movie – Law of Attraction. The Secret movie demonstrates a woman whose cancer cells were gone in 3 months when she focused on happy times and believed that she was already healed. And it was borne out that she was healed just by believing. And then there’s the story of the ‘miracle man’ who crashed his plane and hurt his back and spine. When he woke up from the hospital, the doctor said he will never be able to use his whole body again and could only blink his eyes. He refused to believe it and instead decided that he would recover by Christmas, believed this 100%, and by Christmas, he actually did.

Never Give Up: Persistence Pays

I am sure many people had tried many ways to succeed and nothing works, and not a few may have said in frustration, ‘I have tried thousands of ways’. But many people tried not even a hundred times to change things. Most would just try 8 to 9 times and when it doesn’t work out, they give up. Tony Robbins said that the key to success is to decide what is most important to you and then take massive action each day to make it better, even when it looks as if it isn’t working.

I am sure every one of us is familiar with KFC (Kentucky Fried Chicken). The chicken recipe was owned by this person named Colonel Sanders. The Colonel did not begin to dream about being rich till he was 65 years old. What drove him to finally take action? The answer is he was broke, alone, and mad. He was mad about his social security check that only amounted to US$105. But instead of blaming society, his age, and the government, he started asking himself, “What could I do that would be valuable for other people? What could I give back?”

The Colonel knew that he had this chicken recipe that everyone loves, and thought, what if he sells the recipe to a restaurant? It could increase the restaurant’s sales, and he would then ask for a percentage of the sales. He then went on to knock on the doors of restaurants and got one reject after another. Did he give up? No! – because he believed in his recipe and he knew he will come across one restaurant owner who would say yes to his proposal. He had what Tony Robbins called Personal Power, which means being persistent in taking action: Every time you do something, you learn from it, and you will find a way to do it better next time. The Colonel certainly used his Personal Power, because instead of feeling bad about the last restaurant that rejects his idea, he immediately focuses on how to tell his story better and get better results at the next restaurant he calls on. Do you know how many times the Colonel heard ‘no’ before he got the ‘yes’ answer? He was rejected 1009 times before he got his first ‘yes’!

It was about 2 solid years of persistence - being told ‘no’ 1009 times, driving all over USA in his old, beat-up car - before he received a ‘yes’. Now that is an example of “NEVER GIVING UP”!

Yes, and he was 67 years old when he finally got a breakthrough, and everyone knows the rest of the story - KFC becomes a well-know restaurant around the world. At 67 years old! Yes, this means one is NEVER TOO OLD to get started. I know that people at this age would consider themselves too old to even think of starting a business.

I also wrote a blogpost before, talking about how an entrepreneur got bankrupt at 65, was jailed till age 72, restarted his business at that age, and brought his business to success within about 10 years. Finally, he retired at 82 with a fortune of about US$5M in his bank! At 72, many would have died or are near death. Yes, you can NEVER BE TOO OLD! So NEVER GIVE UP. Money and success do not have bias against age and the types of things you can do. So long as you discover yourself and your valuable assets, find a way to SCALE it and with a sure determination to succeed, success will eventually come.

No problem is permanent and no problem affects your entire life. This, too, shall pass if you continue to take positive and constructive action. Think of delay in success as lag time. When massive, consistent action with pure persistence and a sense of flexibility is applied to pursuing goals, it will ultimately come to pass. However, you must abandon any notion that there is no solution. You must focus on taking immediate action today, even though they are small actions.

Ways to Harness the Power of Decisions

According to Anthony Robbins, there are 6 key ways to harness the power of decisions; the power to continue to shape your own life through decision-making.

1) Recognize that decision-making is a tool. The real decision is also that you take new action. If there is no new action, you have not yet decided.

2) Realize that the hardest step in achieving anything is to make a true decision with commitment. Tony encourages us to make decisions quickly and intelligently and not to labor over making the decisions. But do we make sure that the decisions we make are the best, the wisest and most correct? The next point will address it.

3) Make decisions often. The more decisions you make, the better it gets. Muscles become stronger when used. Thus, making decisions often could help give training to our analytical minds.

4) Learn from your decisions. There are going to be times you make wrong decisions. Instead of beating and blaming yourself, learn from them. Ask what’s good about this. Instead of focusing on short-term setback, focus on the longer term. Learn something if the decision made is wrong, such that you learn from your errors. This is going to prepare you to succeed in the future.

5) Stay committed to the decision, yet be open to alternative routes. It is not the means; it is the end results you are aiming at. Cultivate the art of being flexible. Stay committed to your decision but be flexible with your approach.

6) Enjoy decision-making. At any moment, the decision you make can change the course of your life forever. A truly committed decision is the force of your life.

Process of Making Decisions

We need to decide to plan ahead. Failing to plan is planning to fail. In order to make quality decisions, my suggestion is to get a good plan for your life by having a Life Roadmap. With a vision (or a roadmap) in your mind, you will be able to make quick and quality decisions as the situations call for them. I particularly like Roger Hamilton’s wealth dynamic profiling report. It has given me a guide to create the life roadmap and strategies for creating and achieving my wealth.
The process of Planning is a tough thing to do; there are many decisions to make.
Anthony Robbins, in his speeches, revealed that the decision-making process can be divided into 4 steps:
1) Clearly decide what you want
2) Take massive actions
3) Know what’s working and what is ’t working
4) Change your approach
Let’s look at what he meant and comment.

Like it or not, deciding what you really want is difficult. What is it that you are clearly and committed on deciding to achieve? Many people I know cannot decide on what they really want. I have been through that before. The best way is to know who you are first by taking a wealth profiling test.

Many people take actions first and do not know what they want. That’s the reason why Anthony put ‘deciding what you want’ first. Next is taking massive actions. Once you have already known your path and what you really want to do for your life, next comes massive actions. I know of people who may still be doubtful of what they really want. So, I would recommend them to take small actions, gain confidence, and move forward with massive actions later. In fact, if you don’t take actions, you can slide down. Since inaction can lead to fear, you become less confident as a result, and it can spiral down again. So, take action today.

Knowing what’s working and what’s not working is very important. How do you do that? By keeping track, setting milestones and monitor ing your results. Monitor your progress, follow through and understand what is working and what is not.

When you know what is working and what is not, you will be able to decide changes. Therefore, the next step is to change your approach if it is not working. Continue to do this until you find an approach that works. Of course, you have to give an approach enough time to show its fruits and that it can work. In addition, an approach that works for a person may not work for another.

I can safely say that this 4-step ultimate success formula is used by almost every successful person I have met.

Anthony Robbins describes this simple formula as both a description and a prescription for success: a description of the path for success and a prescription for people who had failed and are looking for a structured way to move forward again.

3 Types of Decisions for Every Moment of Your Live

Previous Posting: Make Powerful Decisions And Take Consistent Actions

Making a decision sometimes gives you clarity. You will know exactly what you want and you will get clear energies moving forward. However, we have to take control of the decision because they shape our life and destiny.
There are basically 3 types of decisions. According to Tony Robbin, the people who had overcome odds and turn their lives around make these 3 powerful decisions every day.
1) what to focus on
2) what things mean
3) what to do
What to focus on - this is what guides your mind on what you have to think about each moment of your life. You are making a decision on what to pay attention to. It shapes how you think, how you feel, and what you do.
The second decision is to know what things mean to you. This is going to fuel your desire, your confidence, your determination. What this means is that you need to ask yourself - is it going to affect my future, my present, and my past?
The last decision is about what you should do now. This decision on what do to in any situation you come across, every moment, constantly - clearly will shape your action and, ultimately, your destiny.
If we don’t take control of these decisions, we’ll pay a major price. Think of life as a river. Many people just jump into the river without really deciding where they want to end up. They quickly get caught in the ‘current’ – i.e., current affairs, current fears, current challenges, current events, etc. They just ‘go with the flow’ and before they know it, they end up at the edge of the fall. By then, it is too late; they are going to take a fall. These ‘falls’ could be in the forms of financial setbacks.
So whatever challenges you have in your life at present, keep in mind that they could have been avoided by making better decisions upstream. So, what happens when you know that you are near a fall? Decide now on the direction and row heavily towards it. Like taking massive actions.
Know your life path. Know your wealth path, which I discussed in my last post. How? Take a Roger Hamilton’s Wealth Dynamic Profile test, because it will help you understand yourself clearly and determine what you can do. It will also enlighten you about which well-known successful personality you can follow (or serve as your mentor). The wealth dynamic test report will recommend well-defined strategies for you to follow.

Make Powerful Decisions and Take Consistent Actions

Related Blog Post: Make That Decision For Better Life

What precedes actions? What is the father of all actions? That is Decision.
Again, in my previous blog post, I mentioned that decision is the first step. Again and again, we have read and heard about extraordinary people who achieve great success because of their decisions and actions. You see, if you are willing, you and I can make become great examples as well for people to follow and aspire to become, eventually making their lives better and more useful.

The first step is to simply make a decision now, today.

A powerful decision must come with commitment and actions.
Most of us do not understand what making decisions are about.
Instead of decisions, we keep stating ‘preferences’.

Making a true decision is like cutting off any other available options and steadfastly sticking to achieving results. For example, if you have truly decided that you never want to smoke again, that’s it; it’s all over; you stop smoking.

Decisions would also give you clarity. Clarity gives you the power to produce what you want in life. Most of us are afraid to make decisions, fearing they could be wrong decisions. If we rarely make decisions, we fail to experience the exhilaration that comes with succeeding after making a good decision. We gradually lose control of our ‘decision-making muscles’ and prefer to stick to the status quo. Fear creeps in and we become like people who grow fatter and fatter and who lose their willpower and strength to get up and exercise. Making decisions is like exercising. The more we do regular workouts, the more we like it. And as our muscles develop, we also become healthier. It becomes a good habit and gives us a positive outlook.

Every wrong attempt discarded is another step forward. The more you make decisions, the more you get to strike off those that do not work, leaving you with lesser options to choose from and helping you achieve clarity. The more decisions we make, the better we become in making better decisions – it’s pretty much like giving decision-making skills a workout. If some decisions end up wrong, never mind; realize the mistakes and persist with making further decisions in the future.

Many people tell me that they do not have a clear idea of what they want and are indecisive because they are unsure of what they can offer and of what is good and right for their path. Hence, I always advise them to read Roger Hamilton’s Wealth Dynamic Profile. Every one of us has a unique path to success and Roger classifies these into 8 groups. After identifying your profile, you would them be able to path a direction (your destiny) using his recommended strategies. I have personally taken my wealth profile test and it has given me clarity, allowing me to make decisions quickly and with confidence.

Make That Decision For Better Life

I have been listening to Anthony Robbin’s Seminar and I am going to share what I have learnt. We all have dreams and desire to live a quality life and a life that makes a difference to people. We all have something inside us that needs to be unleashed and released to show our full potential and more. We all have some special gifts we can unleash and give to the world.

Bob Proctor, in the movie The Secret, revealed that we all have some power in us that we can light up a city if we unleash it. Anthony said this power in us just needs to be awakened and unleashed for us to realize our full potential.

Our past failures and frustrations are designed to allow us to unleash what we can do today, if we are willing. We are able to live our dreams if we are willing to change and make the effort needed to achieve them. We just need to concentrate our power and control and focus on it to unleash that sleeping giant inside us in order for us to become more.

The first step towards a better tomorrow is to make the decision to be better. According to Anthony, if you have not made the decision to improve your life, you are already making a decision not to improve it. It is as though you have already made a decision to be shaped by your environment and ‘current affairs’. So that decision to change is the first important step. A decision has to be followed by a commitment to a certain cause of action. If you make a commitment to the decision, it becomes real and powerful. If you have made a decision without commitment and cause of action, you are simply making a preference - just like stating an interest in making more money without having to do anything. This is a weak preposition; a weak prayer without the faith to launch any action; an ‘I wish’ list.

Making a decision to make a difference in your life is thinking deeply of what result you are committed to, and - equally important - is deciding on what kind of person you are committed to becoming. It also involves setting a standard on what kind of behavior you want yourself to have. And set a standard for those you care about. You need to set a baseline standard you want so that you will not slip to the behaviors and attitudes and quality of life that are far below what you deserved. Hence, the first step is deciding on what you want, followed by living up to your expectations of yourself, and consequently reaping the results. You need to set them and live by the standards you have set so that even if the stock market crashes, even if it rains or shines, even if your friends leave you, and although you lose your job or you feel that the world has fallen on you, you still have your eyes set on the target you have set for yourself.

Instead of making decisions, many make excuses - excuses like they come from poor or dysfunctional families, lack of opportunities, they are too young or too old, bad luck etc. These are, as Anthony put it, your conditions, and it is not your conditions in life that determine your destiny. It is your decisions that will determine your destiny. Use your decisions to get past your excuses and to condition you to change your life.

The nice thing about this power of decision is that you already have it in your mind. You just need to release it. You can now make use of this power inside you to decide on what you want and that no one can stop you from reaching your goal.

Wealth Is an Attraction – Know Your Wealth Profile

This is a followup on my previous articles:
Clarify Your Vision
Wealth Dynamics
Path of Least Resistance to Wealth

Like laws of attractions, wealth is about attracting resources you need so as to achieve your goals. This means that if you lost all your money, you are able to attract the money back, provided you have built true wealth.

If you were to have a way to talk with the world’s richest people, you might be confused about how they build their wealth. For example, if you ask Michael Dell, he would be advising you to build direct marketing and sales systems, perfect them, and the money will come. Bill Gates will be advising you to constantly innovate by creating products and applications fast enough and getting them to the market faster than their fiercest competitors. Warren Buffett will advise you to learn to save money, use it wisely, invest long term, and wait for it to grow. Everyone is right, but they are using different strategies and methods. The big questions is whic should you use? The fact that their strategies worked for them means that it’s not what they do but who they are. So the other big question should be - who are you? When you know who you are, you will know the strategies and steps to pursue.

These rich people understood their flow…their least-resistant path to wealth. And you can find that out yourself too, by taking the wealth profiling test. With that, your mindset could change. You understand your flow, yourself, your strategies, and mentors you can look up to and learn from their own strategies.

How many of us are living a life that is defining who we are? Or is consistent with who we are? Once you know who you are, you can use the strategies recommended by the Wealth Profiling program to align what you do with who you are. This way, your critical path to wealth could be shortened and your journey of wealth creation made enjoyable and more fruitful. You could probably build your TRUE wealth in along with your path and flow.

Pursuing money could be temporary. It comes and goes and has ups and down. With you knowing your flow and wealth path, you will ‘fail forward’. Failing forward is the key to success; by failing forward, you learn; you pick up again and go forward. Failing backward causes you to stop the game and truly fail.

Another matter is wealth is not about money; it’s about people. So networking is important. You’ve got to understand who you are, and you’ve got to find partners that can complement your weakness and work well with you.

The industry you need to go to does not depend on what your profile is. In fact, when you understand your wealth profile, your concern should be what role you can play in the industry or orgainsation. Many who are clear with their wealth profile and have a strong wealth foundation find themselves easily transportable to different industries.

In summary:

YOUR WEALTH PROFILE IS:
• Your path of least resistance
• A wealth creation profile that suits your personal strengths
• One of eight profiles, each with its unique strategy
• A proven path that others have already followed
• A method for you to focus your time investment on
• A route to the clarity and certainty of your path
• A permanent foundation
• A way to distinguish your wealth creation process from the industry or profession that you are currently in
• A method to select the right role models
• A tool to gain a clearer understanding of yourself
• A reference point for your learning and growth

YOUR WEALTH PROFILE IS NOT:
• A fad
• Something you can change at whim
• A temporary foundation
• Your career path or profession
• Your only path to wealth (although others will take longer)
• A place to hang responsibility on
• An excuse
• A label

After understanding your profile, the next step is to resonate with it. When we are fully in flow, we resonate with our purpose, and others respond to our energy. Resonance is the ultimate level of attraction, and one of the key secrets to wealth creation.

I learnt so much about Wealth Profile from the author of Wealth Dynamics, Roger Hamilton. You can hear and see him speak by clicking this => Wealth Dynamics.

Have a Mindset of Feeling Lucky and Feeling Good

Posted on September 9, 2008
Filed Under Category00: Mindsets of Getting Rich, Uncategorized | Leave a Comment

Why do some people get all the luck while others never get the breaks they deserve?

You may ask why some people are always in the right place at the right time, while others consistently experience ill fortune.
I recently read about a psychologist’s research where it was discovered that our thoughts and behaviours are the causes of our good or bad fortune. Take the case of seemingly chance opportunities. Lucky people consistently encounter such opportunities, whereas unlucky people do not.

The research involved a sample of 2 types of volunteers. On one side, the subjects were consistently made to feel that they were lucky and the other, consistently made to feel that they were unlucky. He asked them to read a newspaper he published to look for a number of photographs. He did not tell them that he had secretly placed a message that said, “When you spot this, please tell the researcher and win US$50” somewhere on the newspaper - and this message was well placed in the front page with big fonts. The results showed that most of those who spotted the message were subjects who felt they were lucky. Almost no one from those who feel that they were always unlucky spotted the message.

People who consistently have negative attitudes are generally more tense than positive people, and this anxiety disrupts their ability to notice the unexpected. As a result, they miss opportunities because they are too focused on looking for something else. The feeling-lucky ones make the best of what they have and find ways to make it better. The people who always feel unlucky tend to find an easy way out, and consequently fail in life.

Positive and feeling-lucky people are, in general, more open and relaxed. They would look at what is there rather than just what they are looking for. The researcher reveals that lucky people generally have the following attributes:
1) They are skilled at creating and noticing chance opportunities;
2) They can make lucky decisions by listening to their intuition;
3) They consistently create self-fulfilling prophesies via positive expectations; and
4) They adopt a resilient attitude that transforms bad luck into good.

The researcher went further with the experiment by asking a group of people to perform these exercises for a month, and the result was 80% of those people were now happier, more satisfied with their lives and - perhaps most important of all - luckier.
These findings confirmed what the movie “The Secret” teaches, i.e., Thoughts Become Things. What you think and feel is very important for success. You can use feelings to control your thoughts.

The happiest people in the world are not those who have no problems, but those who learn to live with things that are less than perfect.
